The Hope Tech Project was created with one simple goal: to bring comfort, connection, and moments of joy to children and young people facing cancer and serious illness through the gift of technology.

My inspiration comes from my own journey. After being diagnosed with a brain tumour, technology became more than just a hobby, it became an escape, a way to stay connected, and a source of normality during some of the most difficult days of my life. Through The Hope Tech Project, I hope to provide that same escape and comfort to others who are facing similar challenges.

Over the years, I have wanted to find a way to give that same comfort and connection to other young people facing serious illness. Originally, I explored setting up a registered charity, but after careful consideration and being honest about my own health challenges, I decided that running a charity was not the right path for me at this time. Instead, I chose to create The Hope Tech Project, allowing me to focus my time and energy on helping young people directly rather than managing the significant administrative and legal responsibilities that come with running a charity.

Today, The Hope Tech Project helps young people stay connected with loved ones, continue learning, and enjoy the things they love, even while going through treatment. We believe that technology can provide more than entertainment; it can offer connection, independence, and a much-needed sense of normal life.

The hope we provide isn't abstract. It's a young person turning on a PC, laptop, or games console and, for a little while, being able to focus on something other than hospital appointments, treatments, and uncertainty. It's a reminder that they are still free to play, learn, create, and simply be themselves.

Because sometimes, hope looks like a screen lighting up and cancer no longer being the loudest thing in the room. ❤️
